Latest Update on Tirzepatide & Semaglutide Access
In October 2024, the Outsourcing Facility Association (OFA) filed a lawsuit challenging the FDA’s decision to remove Tirzepatide from the FDA Drug Shortage List. Yesterday, the judge denied the OFA’s request for a preliminary injunction. For now, the FDA’s ruling stands, and the shortage designation remains lifted.
What’s Changing with GLP-1 Medications?
Pharmacies are adjusting to these changes, which may affect the concentration of your medication. Here’s what to expect:
- Your dose (measured in milligrams—MG) will remain the same.
- The volume (measured in units or milliliters—mL) may differ.
- Always check your medication label—it will display your dose in MG.
If you notice a change in volume, rest assured your actual dose remains unchanged; only the concentration has shifted.
